10 Trincere, Yolanda, Curator; Judy K. Collischan Van Wagner, Director. Futurism and Photography.
Greenvale, NY: Long Island University, X. W. Post Campus, 1984. This exhibition is funded, in part, by the National Endowment for the ARts, the New York State Council for the Arts, Nubest and Company, Manhasset, New York and The Frame Factory, Great Nec
Octavo, paperbound (slick, b&w photo illus. grey stapled wrappers), 32 pp. Very Good+, with light rubbing to wrappers. Illustrated. From Preface: Italian Futurism has occupied a rather secondary role in art due to its geographic and historical isolation and its lack of formal contributions to the course of modern art. Between the Baroque period and the current Neo-Expressionist work of artists such as Sandro Chia, only Futurism brought brief attention to Italian art and artists. Interestingly, all three groupings, Baroque, Futurism and contemporary Neo-Expressionsim are largely figurative; however, associations end at that point and it must be noted that in theory, Italian Futurist artists rejected their own artistic heritage. As a result, Futurism lacks an historical or critical past and future in terms of formal derivation and contribution.
