Octavo, red leatherette (hardcover), gilt letters, 278 pp. Fine (As New), in a Very Good+ dust jacket with sunned spine. From jacket: De Luna was first...Everything that could happen to an expedition fell upon this hardy conquistador who had marched with Coronado, fought with his king, and whose family was part of the establishment of 16th Century Spain. His was the only colony ever attempted which was organized and fully backed by a major government. The things that occured, and the representations of the characters, require little enlargement. Perhaps, once De Luna has been ciculated, the nation's colonial begginings will be rewritten and the studies of our children altered.
