(Oxy Bill) Hamlett, 82, of Silver City, NM, a friend, McKenna was born in Greensbug, PA, in 1851...Oxy Bill says that he and Unlce Jimmie put these stories together on scraps of paper in the blacksmith shop years ago...Sometimes they got help from members of the Spit and Whittle Club of Kingston. Oxy Bill says that McKenna worked for awhile on the Mississippi River boats, but they were too tame.
