Biggins, John. Tomorrow the World: An Otto Prohaska Adventure. [Signed]. London: Heinemann Ltd., (1994). First Edition. Signed bookplate ffep. Octavo, blue boards (hardcover), gilt letters, 389 pp. Near-Fine, with slight rubbing to covers, in a Fine (As New) dust jacket. From jacket: The fourth instalment of the seafaring adventures of Ottokar, Ritter von Prohaska, Tomorrow the World concludes his memoirs of Imperial Austria just where one would expect them to end; at the beginning. It is 1902 and Prohaska is a sixteen-year-old naval cadet embarked for a scientific cruise to the South Atlantic aboard the steam corvette Windischgraz: in fact a wooden three-master. The distinguished list of passengers and crew includes not only the hero's divisional officer, the ever resourceful Linienschiffsleutnant Zaleski, with his inventive approach to service regulations; but also the world-famous anthropologist Professor Karl Skowronek, who hopes eventually to grade the entire human species according to skull formation -- and in the meantime has very decided opinions on racial hygiene and degeneracy in art. Nothing goes quite according to plan... Price:
